In 2023, Kitboga introduced "The Maze", a fake Bitcoin transfer system. The goal was to waste as much of scammers' time as possible as they try to steal money which doesn't exist. Since then, hundreds of scammers have spent in total 160 days of their time trying to beat the system and withdraw their Bitcoin. A lot of this time was spent trying to prove that they are not a robot by completing strange and confusing CAPTCHAs.
Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to create a new generation of infuriating CAPTCHAs to waste the time of more scammers than ever before, in ever more creative and ridiculous ways.
You can! You'll need some knowledge of front-end web development, including Javascript, but you don't need to be an expert.
Probably! The grand prize will be the friends we made along the way, but there may also be some Kitboga merch, signed items and/or gift cards up for grabs. The best entries will be tried out live on stream with scammers, and may make it into future Kitboga videos.
The goal is to create a web page that can be used as a CAPTCHA. It should be something that scammers will find frustrating and time-consuming to complete. The more creative and ridiculous, the better!
We will provide you with a template in GitHub*, which contains a list of rules, and some advice about how to get started.
* If you'd prefer to use a different provider, that's fine - just skip to step 3 and create a copy of this repository on your preferred provider.
Fill in this form to submit your entry. The deadline is Friday, 27th June 2025 at 23:59 UTC.
If you have any questions or need help, you can join the Kitboga Discord server. There is a dedicated channel for Code Jam discussions.
